I started Pilates 7 years ago in need of some help to improve my posture and relieve back pain. Scott and Cam are both professional and very knowledgeable in all areas of body and movement. They treat you as an individual and always tailor my workout to suit my needs. Pilates has greatly improved my balance, posture, flexibility and overall well being physically and mentally. I have been attending Ocean Fitness for almost ten years. My medical history included back pain due to a crushed vertebrae and low bone density. I started with light work and Pilates exercises, and built gradually to increase intensity. Over more recent years weight work has been included. Currently I get through two one-hour grueling sessions a week, noting each session’s efforts against lift type and weight. Overall my back pain has gone and bone density significantly increased (also with the aid of an Osteo-Cast inhibitor). My strength has greatly improved, for example my deadlift has increased from 20kg to 100 kg. As for posture, when dog-walking my body feels taught and alert.

The Sorrento gym is equipped with all manner of ‘ingenious machines’ and the instructors, Scott and Cam are engaging task maters, able to extract PBs from the most hesitant of bodies and address question across a wide range fields – nutrition, golf injuries, the weather, pop music etc.

I enjoy my weekly sessions and have benefitted greatly from my association with Ocean Fitness.
